Thank you for your interest in becoming a mentor! JFS mentors play a meaningful role in supporting and guiding youth by building positive, consistent relationships. Through encouragement, active listening, and shared experiences, mentors help inspire confidence, resilience, and personal growth. Your time and commitment can make a lasting impact in a young person’s life.

After signing up for this opportunity you will be connected with Lisa Cauff, the Community Mentoring Program Director. It is at this time that a mentor overview, expectations and guidelines are given. 

All mentors must pass a level 1 and MVR through Sterling and Level 2 Fingerprinting .

The JFS Community Mentoring Program serves children from 6-18 years of age that live in Boca Raton, Delray Beach and Highland Beach. Our adult volunteer mentors are matched with a child who is in need of a role model and friend and would benefit from a long term, stable relationship from a non-parental adult. Our mentors and mentees meet regularly for a minimum of four hours per month and commit to a minimum of one year.

Mentors contribute rich personal histories, a broad range of personal experiences, and a genuine desire to make a difference in a child’s life....encouraging them along their journey to becoming confident, productive adults.
